WWhat a great day for a draft test held at Hamlin Park in Shoreline. Sunny skies and not too warm for our hard working dogs. Judges Ruth Nielsen and Jennifer Brightbill designed a nice course and created a very welcoming atmosphere for the eight teams entered. Of the seven dogs competing, four of them were veterans!! Have to say I really love to see those active, healthy veterans enjoying the teamwork and their people.

A huge thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers that made the day possible. Our club is very lucky to have so many dedicated individuals willing to help out to make these events possible. Thank you to stewards, set up/ clean up crew, photos, and hospitality: Mark Nelson, Jessica Hayes, Barbara Powell, Don James, Wally Johnson, Jonathan Burnstein, Junko Ferguson, Lise Brandhagen, and John Woodruff. And a very special thank you to Maria Nelson, test Secretary: this is a HUGE job, designing the logo, premium, catalog, and an unending stream of paperwork.

At the end of the day we had four passing teams:

• Draft Dog Excellent Veteran (DDEV) – Bensen & Jody Woodruff
• Open Draft Dog (ODD) – Noodles & Elaine Engelmann (Greater Swiss Mountain dog)
• Brace Open Draft Dog Veteran (BODDV) – Bensen and Pearl & Jody Woodruff
• Novice Draft Dog (NDD) – Omar & Sandy James (Greater Swiss Mountain dog)
• The teams that did not pass did great work and came very close.
